Mary Maynard is welcomed into club membership by President Hugh Lawrence.

Mary has lived in Harpenden for over 40 years. For many years she ran a London-based management consultancy, specialising in IT and business change. As the UK non-executive chair and member of the International Senate, she worked with SOS Children’s Villages for 20 years to give orphaned and abandoned children around the world a home and education.

Latterly, she was a local Councillor for Harpenden, serving as the Harpenden Town Mayor for a term. Currently, she is fulfilling a long-term ambition of writing her first novel, having written several technical tomes and been a newspaper columnist.
